We told them to take the car with them. The carburettor keeps flooding and they have the equipment at the workshop. I was car out today . They "hopefully"will bring it back tomorrow  Thud . Our luck has to turn . we had tools from the patio to the carports. So really now it is running they can do it there. They seem honest

ooooo The mobile mechanics made it worse she used it once
So now we have taken it to a vw dealeryesterday

As we all know Alan also tried to redesign the Polo by hitting a pole. So he has a courtesy car. Think a Hybdau 160i
He phones and ask me to come and fetch him. NOW it is a busy area.
Right- Now the alarm I am on the phone to Alan, he said use the left button. He then says ok remember to push the clutch to start car Whatttttt. Ok car starts. Right we get in the car. Something is going ping ping ping ping. What the heck. Ok seat belt. I cant find the clip thing - I just hook the seat belt into the passenger seat, ping ping ping. OK stop and find the drivers side clip. . RIGHT off I go. NOW I have to open the window to hand the exit card in at the booms. I manage to open both window and the wind is darn cold. I cant work out how to close both window. I am now freezing and I cant even find how to switch the air con off. Oh this is not fun. The car has a music on the radio boom boom boom and I dont know how to switch the darn radio off, I like talk radio with a bit of music.. I have a head that is now buzzing
Alan walks to the main road as I did not know where to turn left. I find him. OK close windows put radio off and oh hell switch the aircon off as I am now an icicle.

BACk to Michaelas car. It will cost another R3000 and he says all should be find. Alan on the way to vw dealer the car just stops, yip the accelerator cable or accelerator now off.  He manages to get to Nathans and they working on it He says the back wheels have no bearings and when we bought the new tyres they dont fix it when fitting
Graham from Nathan has convinced us the golf will be going well . So In a nutshells scrappy is getting to be be back on the road.

Thanks all for listening to our saga. Our Nordog sent us a lovely tips that we have filed. Drive  Scooter  Peeking

Yipes, I hadn't realized that Alan had tried to move a pole with his car - so glad he's okay!!

As Joelle said, 'funny' but in reality a bit mind boggling for you, Honeybee, and I too am glad everything has a good ending!

Oh wow now we have spent a bomb on this car. It is running well. Buttt
in the morning. it wont start. It does not even try and start. You can use jumper leads. You have to push. To get it started. Once it has warmed up it starts first kick
WOW we have asked everyone. The starter motor is Ok alternator is Ok.

Many have said we need a negative cable from the battery. It is a 1995 Golf 1.4.
Yikes we have googled. The garage we sent it to said it could be the ignition cable.
We have spent so much on this car now, we just need to hope it is something Alan can do
We have an ex resident that used to live here to come and look.
I saw on a golf forum did not join just read. The only thing if it is an ignition cable that means one has to take the steering wheel off to get to the ignition.

This is proving a problem-she had an interview this morning and yip early it WONT start. When she left the interview it started forst time as it had warmed up.
Has anyone got ideas.Michaela's car - Page 2 Th_mec10

If it was an ignition cable it would not matter whether it was cold or hot it would be faulty all the time. You saying the starter winds over but won't start when cold?

Thanks our Cee it is a mystery

Thanks our doug, it does not turn at all. You have to push start it say 7ish in the morning. But go and start it at 10 and it starts. It will not even turn or let us use jumper leads.

Someone mentioned that cable from the battery and earth cable we must replace that. But we cant find anyone who sells them.
Alan cleaned the connections for corrosion

Try this and it's quite safe, Hook the red jumper cable to the Positive + on your battery. The black earth Jumper lead hook directly to a bolt or bracket on your motor.( not on the negative terminal of the battery) Try that. I was a mechanic for 45yrs.
Most Auto shops sell universal earth leads. You just buy one that's long enough.

Ford Escorts use to have trouble with the earth lead mainly due to the paint on the body panel that the lead was bolted too, the washer did not bight through the paint or the bolt was not tight enough. In fact in my case I had removed the paint greased it then cleaned the excess grease and dab paint over the nut & bolt.

Thud  Oi Our nordog we have had to push every morning the other day the car just stopped dead no stalling on her way to work and natuarrlu everyone was hooting at her to get out the way .
Alan was chatting to an electrician, and they were discussing the car. Alan mentioned it had a huge sound system of which the previous owners took out. But there was just long wires everywhere. The electrician said to Alan, Just take everyone of the wire out. Phew he took yards and yards of wire out. So one of those wires were occasionally touching something. It was so exciting when Alan went out to maybe get a push start today the car started first kick.

Thanks everyone for info it all helps as we did the ideas mentioned. Kiss
