That is an excellent vid our Gordon, thanks for sharing it with us. Lovely scenery and I love that guy's bike. Do you have any idea what make it is???? beautiful bike. I thought about you the other day because when I went out for a ride I met a guy with a Rocky Mountain. The bike is 10 years old and the guy I met is an older man than me. He said he didn't like the bike, I asked him what don't you like about it???? He said this doesn't work and that doesn't work the brakes are bad and it doesn't shift properly. I told him you have to do some maintenance on it, wear and tear can play havoc on any bike. If you don't know how to do it, take it to a bike shop, I told him about the one I deal with.

Please check this out when you get the chance.  chuckles   http://www.bicycling.com/mountainbikecom/bikes-gear/2014-s-hottest-enduro-mountain-bikes

Any idea what model it was Rich, was it a full susser with a very complected rear end from the seat post? Glad you like the video set to me by my Tony (Jen's nephew) her sisters youngest boy, both her sons ride road & mountain bikes.
The eldest Gareth is an architect and Tony works in car design, I told them to join forces and make bikes.

The only thing that I saw on the bike was Enduro, but I didn't see a make. It is a full suspension bike and it looks expensive, great bike tho.  chuckles

Specialized SX Enduro (Frame). These frames range from £1900.00p to £3500.00p. That's just the frame. You 'dress them up' yourself.

Thanks for that info Dave, I reckoned it was an expensive bike. A friend of mine and a mechanic at the bike shop I deal with, he built his current bike. He has more than 4,000 pounds invested in it. A little too rich for my wallet.  chuckles

I am happy with my current bike and the price I paid. It serves my need and the price was not too hard on the wallet.  chuckles

I see these expensive 'Mountain Bikes' daily going along the canal and cycle-routes. Most of them, for the location, aren't needed. On tarmac (as the routes) they're hard work. And the best thing, for daily riding, are mudguards.

Maybe it's just a 'trendy' thing.

But, if you're going along trails off-road, these bikes are great. Worth every penny.

Cotic Soul was a good hardtail frame in Reynolds tubing.

I'm now starting to fix up my Ridgback Condor, had the frame repainted a couple of years ago. Been slowly finding the parts like front forks as (the old cheap ones collapsed) new BB peddles etc, wheels I have and the  Shimano all in one brake/changers from my Rocky will be great on this bike as it will have road tyres fitted.  There is one small problem thou I should have had the rear disc brake bracket welded on before the paint job will mean I have to find a hydraulic ream brake, my pal has a spare one I think, if not he will no off were to find one. Seat post & saddle is a must, not sure if will try Alan's idea of a seat.
Tomorrow I will get the BB threads cleaned out for the new bearings.

Rockshox for the forks. (Old school but good) Welgo are dear enough for pedals. Weld the calliper lugs and touch it up - ally is clean when welded. Road tyres good - again Schwalbe - they have good puncture protection - either Kevlar or plastic.
This would be good for surfaced trails like bike-routes - very fast.

For the money Rich's Norco is good. Copy that for parts. (Alex rims for instance!!??) Shocked

My Claud had Kevlar tyres when I first had it, trouble is I rode over a drain here in town and the rear tyre blew with a bang. And after it took me to Paris.

Put Magura into Google Nordog. D'you mean a 'V'- brake? There's no need to use Magura. They're good but pricey at the moment. A cabled V is as good as a disc any day. Far less hassle too.
Check this out for new...

Good stuff Nordog but it ain't cheap.

Meself I go for...free. Old stuff, what no one wants.  Wink
