My work Bench & work

Post by nordog on Wed Jun 18, 2014 4:56 pm

Condor I bet you had much better facilitates to work with on bikes.

My new work bench:

This the sort of thing I get to sort out:

Changed two tyres this afternoon one had a rim dented and all tape was useless, What is your thoughts on Tubeless tyres?

Tape:

the tape is replaced by using cheap insulation tape streatched as I pull it around the inner rim, starting 6" before the valve hole & finish 6" after the hole.

Looks fiddly work Nordog.  Hope you get the jobs fixed as I'm sure you will.

Well done our Nordog for all the repairs you do, sure would have saved many from needing to buy new bikes.  :clap10:

One of these helps Nordog...>

I don't mess with 'Tubeless tyres'. Cheaper to fit new tubes.

How do you go on for new parts?

Fixed a literally new Btwin roady yesterday. On even that the back wheel was buckled and needed truing! £400 minimum for the bike too. The existing tyres were bald! Tubes shot. Nearly new bike mind. They build a good frame with carbon forks etc. then put everything else on from the cheapo bucket! Not good.

Good 'Puncture Protected' Schwalbe tyres over new 26 x 2 tubes would hardly ever puncture. Saves £ long-term. And you can use ready-made rubber rim-tapes. All fitted in minutes.
