Our Hezzy (Kevin)

Post by Tan on Sat Feb 17, 2018 7:33 am

Such very sad news I heard today from Hezzy's Daughter.

Sadly Hezzy passed away this morning at 1am.

May our Kevin Rest in Peace. xxx

Here is the email I received today. I had sent Hezzy an email in the week, just seeing if all was going well, unknowingly so very sad to know he was in the Hospice.
.......
Hi Olga

So sorry to have to let you know this way but Kevin (my lovely dad) passed away at 1am this morning.  He became ill with a very nasty chest infection three weeks ago and sadly could not recover.  He died at East Lancs Hospice.  He said he was ready to go and didn't want to fight the COPD anymore.  Please could you let the lovely people he knew on the forum know as he always enjoyed chatting on their and looking at the pictures people posted.

Yes such a gentleman Hezzy was, and enjoyed having fun with us all over the years.
So precious he let his daughters know about us, and our little home here.

I remember Hez and Nev being the last to leave the meet-up and they came over to Ruth's car to look at baby Sebi...

Such sad news to receive on this Sunday, but I am sure that Hez is now in a better place, no longer fighting his ailment, and out of pain and suffering.

So sweet of his daughter to make contact with you Tan and to hear that he used to talk about our little home to his family.

You will be sorely missed Hez, Rest in Peace kind man.

I was also given the phone number of Hezzy's other daughter. I felt respectful not to phone yesterday, but I will ring later today, or on Monday to pass on all our precious thoughts and blessings.

When the funeral arrangements are set then I will add about that, and send some flowers and a card from all our little family for that day.

God Bless you our Hezzy, May you Rest in Peace. xx

I have just heard from Jackie, our Hezzy's daughter, about the funeral arrangements.

Monday 26th at 10am. At Pleasington Crematorium.

Then from there all will be going to St. Stephen's Club where our Hezzy frequented, and was a Compere there.

The funeral is being arranged by Alty's Funeral Service. Blackburn.

The Telegraph newspaper announcement should be in on the 21st. Family flowers only has been requested but Jackie kindly said I could send flowers. Which I will from us all. xx  hug

I chose a White and Purple Sheaf.

Also added this message on the card from us all.

God Bless You Kevin. xx Rest in Peace >From Olga and all your friends on Tanooma's Tearoom Forum.

I went to Kevin's funeral, lots of people were there which was wonderful. Beautiful memories were told, and mention too of the lovely time Kevin spent with us on TTR.

The flowers were beautiful. I had taken my camera in hope I could take a photo of the flowers, but I felt as no one else was taking a photo it was for the best I didn't.
The service was very nice, and very touching too.

May Kevin (Our Hezzy) Rest in Peace - God Bless him. xx  hug

I wish we could have gone but we wouldn't have got there in time.

Did you take a taxi Tan ?

It must have been nice hearing the family's stories about him.

At least it was nice seeing a lot of people there, many I think were from the club. Several I sat next to were from the club. They were saying when the Bowling competitions were on Kevin was there with his camera, taking lots of photo's for them all. I think one said some were placed in the club house, or will be.

A taxi would have cost a lot of money there and back, plus the waiting time. Fortunately I got a lift.

One of the stories said was when Kevin's daughter borrowed his car, just 3 days after she had passed her driving test. She caused some damage due to reverse parking. But all Kevin said to her was ''Never mind, it is only a car. As long as you are okay''.
