We had quite a laugh the other day with my son when talking about old times and we got on to the subject of Alton Towers.
It was before we had a car and my son was about 8 years old so it would be around 1958 when this incident happened.

We went to Alton Towers with our foster daughter and her hubby plus their little lad who was about four years old in their car that they owned.
Unfortunately we got stuck in a traffic jam going because there had been a lorry and a car accident which held us up for an hour. We were asked by the road cops to stay in the car and with it being a lovely day we had the windows wound right down to get the air through.
During that time our foster daughters little lad wanted to wee so we had to improvise with a biscuit tin for him to do it in until we could get out of the car after getting going again.

When we finally got moving after the wreckage had been cleared we had to take a country road to get where we were going. Our foster daughter decided to throw the contents of the biscuit tin out of the car window after sitting with it smelling in a hot car for nearly an hour but never took into account that hubby was sitting behind her with the window well down.
He got the lot all in his face and I did not help matters by rolling up with laughter. Had a good giggle 3560955859
My foster daughter was SO very sorry with what she had done but hubby soon dried off with plenty of tissues to wipe him although I didn't want him too near me at the time until he could get some fresh water to wash his face.
We sat reminiscing this on Saturday and having a good laugh.Laughing Laughing

I brought this photo out to show my son because it was taken when we got to Alton Towers. I was holding my foster daughters little lad on the cock horses in front of me because my hubby, foster daughter and her hubby did not like roundabouts so it was left to me to take the little one on to give him a ride.
Happy Days. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I have quite a few tales of various things that have happened during my lifetime Mara.
I will have to have a look in my files to see what I can put here for you.

I find lives simply fascinating and always have, even when I was little and would hide under the table and listen to grownups talking. (Blame my Mother for believing floor length damask was 'normal' - hoot!).

May not have understood some of the topics but learned that voice inflections often meant more than words themselves - and, to me, it's the little accumulative experiences in people's lives that make us what we are - and I've never ever been bored by a single person in my entire life - huge gentle smile.

I love reading your and other's stories, Maisie!
