Thank you our Maisie, I think a lot more of the ages those all were fighting in the wars, what they went through, and what was going through their minds, so young to have to go through all that.

Yes and many did not survive Tan.

It was something that I would NOT like to live through again.

Bless you our Maisie. :smil:

Thinking here too of when I heard some even changed their dates of birth so they could go out there to fight for their Countries, so sadly too as you say many never came home again, just so really sad to think about.

I can remember going to the 'pictures' Maisie and seeing the news all about what was happening. At the opening of some of the films in those days they had coloured search lights with the makers of the film (instead of the lion)

Funny how something can trigger the memory Tan and Joelle. Its suprising what the human mind can store away that comes to the fore when certain things are mentioned or read.

It certainly is Maisie, bad years but happy times for me as a child, we didn't realise what war was, it was just there, course you were a bit older and saw a lot more being in London. I was in Yorkshire.

Yes that is probably why it stuck in my mind Joelle.

Because I was old enough to take in what was happening.

I was to a certain extent. My dad was in the army and I knew all the war but I had never known any other way of life. I was eight when the war finished I think.

Yes as I said certain things bring back either good or bad memories, even if you were a small child at that time you were taking things in.

Joelle wasnt that search light a sign of the Pathe News all the films they owned were sold in recent years and are now privately owned, but Pathe news was the big name for many years ,
I know My Dad sometimes would go on and on a bit about the War when we were all little he spent a lot of time in Burmah India and Iraq but now I know that the 7 years or so he went through had such a devastating impression in his Life it affected every day after and many many more folks besides , :xmas 4:

I remember my Dad saying he as a child in the war, and several of his friends, were allocated families to go and visit after the all clear was given, he would check to see if they were okay.
