It was a lovely surprise to see an e-mail from the well known authoress and artist
Susie Hodge ( Wikipedia ) in my inbox last night inviting hubby and myself to the launching of her
three new books in London at Waterstones in March.
Unfortunately I had to tell her that neither hubby nor I are up to travelling far now but I thought
of was a lovely of her to think of us. http://www.susiehodge.co.uk/

She contacted me some time ago because she was writing about the Home Front during WW2 and
I helped her in one or two aspects concerning that era.
I was also asked by her publishers if they could borrow my 1945 knitting book which they have since returned.

I am looking forward to reading the finished book.

How lovely for you both to have been invited, very thoughtful wasn't it our Maisie.
Of course Susie would have wanted to show her gratitude for how you helped so much too. :clap10:

Yes, it is a shame of course our Maisie, but unavoidable, had you both been able to go then how lovely that would have been there.
But knowing you were invited is so lovely too, and you were very much thought of.

Sure when you do get the finished book you will be honoured, and knowing you helped so much too with some of the contents.

She needed your information, you gave it freely Maisie.
she probable feels honoured in using your help. I say well done good lady. Perhaps a limo to the nearest station and a first class seat to London & back.

No I dont think so nordog.

I cant sit for long now because of the dicky hip so long journey's are out of the question. Plus all the meds I have to cart around in case I have any seizures.

I have sent her an e-mail to say that we wont be coming but I did thank her for thinking of us.

She will be sending me a copy of the book so that is all I am bothered about it.

Many thanks Captain.

Its a lovely gesture on her part but it would be a bit too much for hubby and I now. If I did not have so many health problems I may have taken her up on it and go with my lovely d-i-l but having started with Epilepsy after the age of 80, even though I am on meds for it, I would not like anything to happen to upset the day or evening in this case because its from 6-9pm.

That was a lovely invitation to receive Maisie, I can understand you not being able to go but a copy of her book will be something to look forward to.
